Baby Sloane - hospital and 1st day home 076I’m over at the Washington Post “On Parenting” site today, with a new article, “A Letter to Myself as a New Mom.” This piece is all about reflection… about how terrifying it is to face motherhood for the first time, and how we moms grow, unsteadily, determinedly, into this most wondrous of roles. As I say in the article:

“As for you, you’re going to figure this mom thing out. Maybe not today, as you try to make sense of the baby at your breast, the scar on your body, the sleep that’s no longer yours. For now, just let it all in… You have time.”

Be sure to check out the full article at the Washington Post website! And don’t forget to share it on Facebook and Twitter!
